Holland 164-foot Ketch

The Venice, Italy–based yacht builder CCYD has built many famous craft over the years ranging in length from 75 to 150 feet. Among them are the 81-foot schooner Stalca, built for Prince Ranier of Monaco, and Dennis Conner’s Whitbread Round-the-World racer, Winston. Cristina Padoan, daughter of the yard’s founder, the late Gianfranco Padoan, is now managing the new team at this venerable yard, and one of her newest projects is a 164-foot centerboard ketch. The yacht, designed by Ron Holland, has an aluminum hull and composite superstructure.

In addition to the owner’s cabin, the yacht has accommodations for 12 guests in five cabins, as well as four cabins for an eight-person crew. Masts will be aluminum; the booms will be carbon with Leisure furl in-boom furling. Cruising speed under power is projected to be 14 knots with a maximum speed of 15.5 knots.

Construction will be to Lloyd’s 100A1 and MCA specifications. CCYD, 1717 North Bayshore Drive, Suite 3545, Miami, FL 33132; tel. 305-374-4393, www.ccyd.net
