Scorpione Dei Mari

This Tony Castro–designed 95-footer is a sister to the award-winning Ameena, but has been given a completely different deck layout and superstructure. Castro has made the contours of this yacht very streamlined—some might say almost minimalist. Nevertheless, he has worked hard to make it very functional. The yacht has no light bulbs or halogen lamps; all lighting fixtures use LED installations that consume less than a tenth of the electricity required by other types of lighting.

Sailing performance has been enhanced by lightweight materials, a composite rudder, and carbon-fiber rigging. All deck gear and hatches are also made of carbon, and a sophisticated anchor system helps to keep the weight forward to a minimum.
