After years of legal wrangling, it appears there is finally going to be an America’s Cup between Team Alinghi, representing Switzerland’s Société Nautique de Genève, and the challenger BMW Oracle Racing, representing San Francisco’s Golden Gate Yacht Club. The Swiss will be racing aboard a massive catamaran, A5, while the challenger will sail on USA, a trimaran with a 190 foot wing sail. February’s Deed-of-Gift match represents an incredible clash of technologies on two of the most magnificent and fastest boats ever created.
