Everything about FELICITA WEST has been designed and created to provide the ultimate sailing experience in the greatest possible comfort. A very experienced, knowledgeable owner, the legendary Ron Holland, Perini Navi, Italian designers Nuvolari & Lenard, and a Captain with new build expertise, all committed to delivering the finest yacht possible, a legend. Ron Holland’s design brief was to deliver an exhilarating performance yacht, to push Perini Navi’s performance envelope by creating a large, very fast, yet comfortable yacht. Comments by Ron Holland: "After a lifetime designing a wide variety of sailing yachts, the design commission for Felicita West, Ron Holland Designs first yacht over 200ft in length, presented exciting possibilities. Not only was Felicita West the largest aluminum sailing yacht to be launched, she also was the first to be certified by MCA in the over 500 GT class. We processed detailed data for her construction and sailing performance. Nuvolari and Lenard collaborated with interior design and styling and Perini Navi were responsible for the engineering and related systems. Our clients design brief called for a spacious vessel capable of world cruising in great comfort. Sailing performance was also a priority and with a modern underwater profile, retracting centerboard and the latest in rigging systems FELICITA WEST fulfilled her owners best performance expectations. From my personal perspective this significant yacht is one of my most important commissions. A yacht with timeless style and go anywhere capabilities." Comments by Dan Lenard of Nuvolari Lenard: "The yacht was conceived by Nuvolari Lenard as the largest Perini of her time and as the first Perini designed by an outer design team. Once the yacht was traced a Ron Holland team was involved to design the underwater part of the hull, rig and appendages. The interior layout and design was done again by our team who also performed as a quality controller on the project on the owner's behalf. The yacht look and styling was based on the best looking Perini’s until that moment as a kind of the conclusion of the classic Perini line. Her interior was done with a pure British style in mind although an alternative look was always taken in mind where with a mix of loose furniture and super modern pieces. The yacht could look as an eclectic renovation of a classic home. The yacht still spots the one of a kind stern solution where a classic stern shape converts into a modern open stern beach club platform." Boarding from the aft deck: Paserelle boarding plus a large retractable swim platform (providing easy access to the water or into tenders). In the raised position, the transom is hidden perfectly into the aft deck. There are two fighting chairs for additional entertainment! Plus a large comfortable, covered area for seating and dining. Forward into the Main Salon: Generous proportions, yet intimate space is the feeling here and thru out the yacht. The English Country House style interior was designed for easy living. Colors and textures are warm and mellow, soft and comforting. This area features a comfortable seating conversation area plus game table and quiet conversation area. Further Forward: Up to the wheelhouse with comfortable observation seating. This is a great spot to watch the ease with which the Captain controls this elegant yacht.
