A Light Touch
I’ve been in search of the perfect nav station light for many years, and finally found it in the form of the F4 TouchLED task light from Imtra. It’s switched on and off by touching the sole red LED in the middle of the cluster of 15 white LEDS. This also switches it between full white, red standby or red lighting mode. It draws 150 milliamps in full white mode and just 10 milliamps in standby mode, in which it also serves as a useful red nightlight that deactivates itself in daylight or when other lights are switched on. It has a tough, heavy-duty build quality and comes with a choice of flexible arm lengths and bases for bulkhead or horizontal surface mounting. With a working life of 20,000 hours, you should never need another one.
