The 2010-11 World ARC, organized by the World Cruising Club, officially drew to a close in late April, with the 18-boat fleet taking part in a parade of sail, followed by a prize-giving dinner at the Royal Saint Lucian hotel in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia.
The 2010-11 World ARC, which was open to monohulls and multihulls with a minimum LOA of 40 feet, began in the Caribbean in January 2010, and included stops in such exotic locales as the Galapagos Islands, the Tuamotos, Tahiti, Bora Bora, the Cook Islands, the Great Barrier Reef, Cape Town, St. Helena, Brazil and Grenada along its 26,000-mile route.
The next World ARC is scheduled to begin January 2012. After that, the event will be run annually to keep up with demand within the cruising community. For more on the World ARC, click here.
