Today we celebrate the birthday of sailing legend Tracy Edwards, who led the first all-female team to race in the Whitbread Round the World race (1989/90), inspiring a generation of female sailors. In the decades since, she has continued to be an active sailor and advocate for people of all backgrounds coming to the sport. Her Maiden Factor Foundation raises money for girls education programs around the world.
