
On Tuesday, November 24, US Sailing’s Leadership Forum will present the latest panel discussion in their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion series. This event will focus on adaptive sailing and provide practical recommendations for organizations looking to expand their adaptive programming. Tune in live on at 7pm EST
The panel will be moderated by Becky Keukla who is a motivational speaker, disability inclusion advocate and member of the Board of Advisors for the National Center for Disability Journalism (NCDJ) at Arizona State University. The panelists will include Cristina Rubke, Staff Commodore and Co-Director of Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors Keelboat program, former Member of San Francisco America’s Cup Organizing Committee (America’s Cup 34) and 2018 U.S. Para Sailing Championship/Clagett Regatta (2nd Place, Doublehanded Division, RS Venture); Matt Chao, six-time U.S. Blind Sailing National Champion, recipient of the Gay S. Lynn Memorial Trophy in 2011 for his outstanding contributions to sailors with disabilities and to adaptive sailing; and Sarah Everhart Skeels, former member of the U.S. Parasailing Team and Commissioner on the Rhode Island Governor’s Commission for People with Disabilities; Chair of the Employment Committee.
