You may have noticed that you’ve heard from us less frequently this week. That’s because we’re changing our newsletter distribution schedule. From here out, our newsletter is moving from five days a week to just once weekly.
You’ll still be getting the same week’s worth of news and stories, but packaged in a single email, delivered on Fridays.
There are a couple reasons behind this change. First, we want to reduce the clutter in your inbox. Personally, there’s almost no company that I want to hear from five days per week, even if I love their work. I’ve heard from readers who feel the same way. They would like to get our newsletter, but daily is just too much. We want to meet that need.
Once per week gives you the opportunity to read at whatever pace you like, whether that’s five stories over your Sunday morning coffee or one a day like you’ve been enjoying them for years. It’s the same content, just delivered in different packaging.
This change also helps us streamline the production process and keep our wonderful Web Editor Emme sane. As I’m sure you’d guess, 2026 is a strange time to be making a print magazine, and increasingly our digital presence is an important part of how SAIL interacts with our current and future readers. As we work towards serving the new ways people like to consume content, we need to be strategic about how our small team spends its energy. The truth is assembling, approving, and shipping a newsletter every single weekday takes a lot of time. Streamlining the process helps us put more back into great storytelling and reporting.
I hope this change will be mutually beneficial, and I appreciate your patience and welcome feedback as we implement it.
