In February of 2010, SAIL's Associate Editor Meredith Laitos traveled to the Abacos to earn her ASA 101, 103 and 104 certification through Fair Winds Sailing School. During the week, Capt. Dave Bello led the students through a series of on-water drills and classroom sessions to get them bareboat-ready.
