ACR AISlink
ACR’s new AISlink MOB beacon will transmit a distress signal that can be picked up within a 5-mile radius by vessels equipped with either Class A or Class B AIS. Once activated, it sends an emergency message along with your GPS coordinates. It can also activate the DSC alarm on a vessel’s VHF radio and incorporates a powerful LED strobe light. The unit is compact enough to fit inside a lifejacket and would make an ideal companion to a 403MHz personal locator beacon (PLB), which can alert authorities via satellite.
