In navigation mode the screen can display GPS info like lat/long, course over ground, distance to waypoint, and speed over ground. In plotter mode, you get an overview of nearby waypoints in graphic form along with vital navigational information. The HH36 handheld has full distress functionaly via DSC, which also means that if you go overboard with one you can make your boat’s regular VHF ring loudly and report your bearing and distance.
