The multi-touch, pinch-to-zoom MFD is available with 8, 12 or 15-inch displays, which share a revamped user interface that prioritizes the most important menus and settings in a control bar at the bottom of the screen. Garmin’s new SmartMode control feature lets users customize multiple displays and many of the functions. A black box version, the 8500, can be used with up to 19-inch monitors.
