Nautor’s Swan is finishing off a sleek new German Frers design with a high-volume interior, a large, well-protected cockpit, and a performance-oriented rig and deck plan. The hull and deck are built with prepreg/carbon-fiber reinforced skins over a Corecell core. The bulb-keel foil is fabricated from high-grade steel, and the rudder blade and stock are carbon. In addition to using up-to-the-minute technology, Frers acknowledged Swan’s longstanding tradition of providing owners with comfortable cruising yachts that are also capable of making fast offshore passages.
The yacht has a powerful rig and a long waterline, with a hull form capable of semi-planing speed. Together with powered winches, a cockpit layout that puts the helmsman within easy reach of the trimming gear allows the yacht to be sailed by just two people. The helmsman also has a clear view of all the sails and approaching waves. Several deck layouts include two transom options—a stylish open version, and a closed transom with a sunbathing area on deck and space for a dinghy garage below.
The Swan 60’s interior maximizes natural light in all living areas, and the navigation station in the main saloon is particularly spacious. The large owner’s stateroom is forward, and there are two ensuite guest cabins aft.
