Yacht Thruster’s i-Thrust hydraulic bow and stern thrusters employ a beefy transmission belt between the motor and propellers, so there is no need for oil in the gear housing. The motor is also located parallel with the tunnel to reduce both noise and the system’s overall footprint in the interest of ease of installation. The gear housing and bracket are fabricated from stainless steel in the larger models, but from composites in smaller models to forestall corrosion.
