Bali has announced the launch of the new Bali 5.2 just a year after the launch of the 5.8, and while the 5.8 was a luxury condo on two hulls, the 5.2 took lessons from her big sister and fit them skillfully into a more approachable LOA.
Bali has long been synonymous with one thing: space. So packing more into a smaller hull was a challenge, but one that designer Pianton-Bercault was more than up to. This new model is available with three to six cabins and sleeping up to 16 people in a pinch. The table in the salon seats 12. Though the 5.2s going into charter will likely opt for more cabins, in the three or four cabin versions, massive staterooms aft will be a unique selling point for this model, with tons of space for a prospective owner and, in the case of the three cabin version, a very lucky guest. A crew cabin is also available.
Another star of this boat will be the forward lounge area. Like the 58, there is a massive conversation pit-style seating area ahead of the mast, complete with a central table and sunbeds around it. A helm on the flybridge is also surrounded by another large lounge area, ensuring that the skipper never has to hang out by themselves.
The starboard chart table has space for every gadget you could want and one large screen for electronic management of the boat. A U-shaped galley to port has great visibility all around, and there’s a stylish, somewhat modern but still warm feel to the interior styling.
The mast is set far aft on this boat and, bucking the notion that Bali’s are at their best at the dock, a 750sq ft overlapping genoa and 1,000 sq ft square-topped main suggest that this boat will really move under sail. For a more leisurely cruise, twin Nanni 115hp engines will do the trick.
Here’s more about the Bali 5.8, the Bali 5.4, and the Bali 4.1.
